Azure Disaster Recovery Services from Apps4Rent

Preparing Detailed DR Plans

Design As Per
Recovery Goals

Look at your recovery goals before designing an effective DR plan which includes your RTP and RPO values, DR pattern, and test scenarios.

Design for End-to-End
Recovery

Apps4Rent helps you design a solid Disaster Recovery plan which will cover the entire end-to-end recovery mechanism with backup and restoration process.

Implement Security and
Compliance Controls

DR plan should not compromise security at any cost. Implementation of same security controls of production environment must be applied to the restored environment.

Replicating Environments to Azure

Hyper-V VMs to Azure Replication

Replicate VMs in Hyper-V servers in the VMM cloud to Azure, or you can replicate between VMM clouds on the same server. Setup full disaster recovery to replicate on-premises Hyper-V VMs to Azure storage.

Replicate Physical Machines to Azure

It is possible for physical on-premises machines to connect to Azure virtual machines for failover and failback processes. All the copies are in sync due to near-constant data replication.

Replicating VMware VMs to Azure

We assist you enabling replication of on-premises VMware virtual machines to Azure after considering the prerequisites, resolving the common issues, and managing the VM properties.

Robust Recovery Capabilities

Test and Planned Failovers

We help you implement test failovers with isolated Azure virtual network where there is no impact on the production. During a planned failover, protected virtual machines are shut down resulting in no data loss.

Unplanned Failovers

Unplanned failovers can be executed to a DR site, or even a failback to revert to the primary site. An incremental backup of the source VMs must be performed to capture the recent data, else it might result in data loss.

Strong Failbacks

Failbacks that use ASR attempts to establish reverse replication from Azure DR site to primary on-premises site location. Using planned failovers in the opposite direction, machines are running in your on-premises again.

Easy DR Implementation

Meet RPO/RTO
Targets

In case of a disaster, we help you implement quick business continuity plan ensuring that impact of any disruption is minimal. Our strategies help you meet RPO/RTO targets.

Quick Off-Site
Failover

Your production workloads always remains functional as we get you back in mere minutes of the outage by switching workloads in production to Azure machines.

Disaster Recovery
Orchestration

Address inter-dependencies between apps by automating important disaster recovery scenarios. Orchestrate DR systems to be recovered in the right order.

Why Azure for Disaster Recovery?

High Availability

Continue your business operations even when certain elements fail. Azure allows you to deploy workloads across multiple datacenters located in different geographical regions with high availability.

Ease of Deployment

In Azure, you can shift your environment to another environment directly using Azure Site Recovery without replicating your resources including storage, VMs, and applications one by one.

Cut Huge DR Costs

Get advantage of best combination of quick recovery times and lower costs with Azure. Get the same ROI with back-up based replication as of using sophisticated replication technologies.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

1. Why choose Azure for Disaster Recovery services ahead of AWS or Google Cloud Provider (GCP)?

Unlike AWS and GCP, Azure provides you with real Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS). With GCP and AWS, you have to create DR site in their environment and you have replicate your resources one by one in an established order. But with Azure, you can directly shift your environment to environment by using Azure Site Recovery services.

2. What is RTO and RPO for Azure Disaster Recovery?

Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) are very important frameworks of Disaster Recovery plan. The typical RTO and RPO targets are set accordingly within the organizational limits depending on the requirements, which are best-in-class limits.

3. Is public IP required for every machine?

No. Public IP is not required for every machine. It is only required if you want to access server from a network which is located externally.

4. What is disaster recovery in Azure?

Azure offers disaster recovery services that can be setup quickly and keep it up and running 24/7 for protecting critical business data and IT infrastructure. Your workloads running on physical and virtual machines can be replicated to a different location from a primary location.

5. What does Azure Site Recovery protect?

Azure Site Recovery protects most of your workloads running on a supported virtual machine or a physical server. It offers support for replication of applications, allowing them to be recovered to their functional states. You can back up your VMs to the Cloud, create a backup on Azure with another Azure VM, change Azure geographical locations, or even backup full VM infrastructure, physical server, or Hyper-V to Azure.

6. What is failover and failback in Azure?

Failover is a part of business continuity and disaster recovery strategy. There are different types of failovers in Azure - Test, Planned, and Unplanned. The test failovers with isolated Azure virtual network have no impact on production. The planned failovers move Azure virtual network to the production network. The machine is shut down and no data loss occurs. During unplanned failovers, there is an attempt to shut down the machine, but there can be some level of data loss. Failbacks are reverse replication and unplanned failovers in opposite direction.

7. Will replication on Azure reduce operational costs for Disaster Recovery?

Yes. If you know how to optimize Azure, you can avoid huge costs of using sophisticated replication infrastructure for business continuity and disaster recovery. Contact our Azure experts to know how you can optimize Azure and get the best out of it.

8. How do I get started with Apps4Rent for Azure Disaster Recovery services?

Patt, Cloud Manager, Sacramento, California

"Creating an offsite backup on Azure is not simple. According to our stringent BCDR policy, we wanted to replicate our VMs on the nearest geographical Azure location. We went to some big cloud players, but our case was complicated. When we finally decide to go with Apps4Rent, we were surprised the way they maturely handled the project so well."

Zac, Cloud Security Officer, Richmond, Virginia

"Our virtual and physical machines are well protected with Azure ASR. We have multiple servers and services, and our DR requirements are complex. We wanted an experienced partner who can take care of everything right from planning, configuration, and automation. We are glad we found Apps4Rent, which has done a terrific job. "
