MOSS 2007 is supported underneath by Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, which later generations of SharePoint was called as SharePoint Foundation. MOSS 2007 comes in two different editions – Standard and Enterprise. Similarly, SharePoint Server 2010 and 2013 were built on top of SharePoint Foundation, and each generation had a Standard and Enterprise versions. While Windows SharePoint Services and SharePoint Foundation did not have per user charges, MOSS 2007, SharePoint Server 2010, 2013, 2016, and 2019 – all carry per user charges. SharePoint Server 2016, which also comes in Standard and Enterprise editions, does not come with equivalent version of SharePoint Foundation.
