Outlook Web App Rules

How to manage Outlook Web App rules?

1. Log into the Outlook Wep App.
2. Click on Mail on the left.
3. Click on “Options” on right hand corner
4. Drop down to “Creating Inbox Rules”.
5. Click on “New”.
6. From the first dropdown box select any one type of rules below:

It was received from: Click on “Select people” and from new message box select the user, user will appear in the “From” box at the bottom and then select “OK”.
It was sent to: Click on “Select people” and from new message box select the user, user will appear in the “To” box at the bottom and then select “OK”.
It includes these words in the subject: Click on “Enter words” and type the word in the box.  Then click on the green plus mark on the right and click on “OK”. You can add multiple words or phrases in this way.
It includes these words in the subject or body: Click on “Enter words” and type the word in the box. Then click on the green plus mark on the right and click on “Ok”. You can add multiple words or phrases in similar manner.
It includes these words in the senders address: click on “Enter words” and type the word in the box. Then click on the green plus mark on the right and click on “Ok”. You can add multiple words or phrases in this way.
– My name is in the to or CC box
– Apply to all messages.

7.   From the second drop down box select whether to move, redirect or delete the message below:

Move the message to the folder: Click on “Select one” and highlight the folder from the pop up message box and click on “OK”.
Mark the message with a category: click on “Select one” and select the category color and click on “OK”
Redirect the message to: Click on “Select people” and from new message box select the user. The user will appear in the “From” box at the bottom then select “OK”.
– “Delete the message”

8.  You can click on “More Options” to setup more Exceptions.

9.  Finally click on “Save” at the bottom right to save the rule.

TIP:

*  You can right click an e-mail from outlook Web App and create a rule.
